I can’t believe this, but I’ve actually responded to her a couple of times admonishing her for her sex negativity, but there it is.
The other response had to do with sexting. It’s understandable that she’d have old-fashioned ideas regarding sexting and the “harm” it does to teens, but she’s Dr. Ruth and people listen to her. But she seems to not understand that this is something everything does nowadays, and girls are disproportionately affected by reactions to sexting. They get punished for it more often than boys because girls are still not seen as having ownership of their own bodies.
Thankfully more young folks seem to listen to Dan Savage, but I think those that came into their prime during the 80s listen to Dr. Ruth since she was the pioneer of encouraging people to enjoy sex to the fullest.
Am I wrong to be saying these things to the exalted Dr. Ruth? I mean, who the heck am I?
